QSO Parties

Each year, every ARRL section holds a “QSO Party” which is simply an event to get operators on the air in that section. Contacts are logged by county, so people outside the state can either get that state for their Worked All States (WAS) or chase counties. This also represents an opportunity for those in the state to work many other states as people try to contact them.

In the span of a year, a person should be able to get their WAS by looking up when those states they need will definitely be on the air. There is a handy calendar published for all states.

The Joplin club participates in the MO and KS QSO parties on occasion – click each of those links for more information about the exact timing each year, and watch for news below on our club’s plans.
